Existing Marina
The construction of an 18-berth marina in 1996 added to the facilities the club provides for its members. These berths have been in great demand and a waiting list exists for members wanting to berth their boats in the facility.
The club marina provides over half of the berthage for recreational vessels in the Whakatane Harbour. The yacht club
marina currently provides the only secure mooring facility in the river during flood events.
Across the country, the provision of marina activities, in or near the town centre, has vitalised the recreational and
commercial attractiveness of the town.
The current development provides this, albeit in a small way, and is an attraction to locals and visitors alike who traverse the Warren Cole Walk and Cycleway.
